Design Engineer Lighting

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5
• Design and develop automotive lighting components including headlamps and rear lamps
• Ensure design feasibility regarding plastic injection molding and tooling constraints
• Create design proposals, sketches, and surface data integration
• Perform design calculations, simulations, and validations for cost, weight, and performance
• Design critical features such as mounting clips, ribs, locators, and harness routing
• Participate in Design Reviews and manage CAD data using PDM/PLM systems
• Interface with customers and internal stakeholders for technical updates

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Product Design
• 3 to 5 years of experience
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Assembly, Drafting)
• Strong knowledge of plastic part design and injection molding principles
• Understanding of tooling feasibility and manufacturability constraints
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Familiarity with automotive lighting systems architecture
• Strong technical communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in automotive lighting or plastic component design
• Experience with LED integration and optics basics
• Exposure to Class-A surface (CAS) data handling
• Familiarity with PLM tools such as Teamcenter or ENOVIA
• Understanding of DFMEA, DFM, and DFA methodologies
• Exposure to OEM/Tier-1 automotive processes and standards
