Design Engineer Intern

About the Company

Gumloop is the piece of AI infrastructure companies roll out to let everyone build agents securely. We're a very small team building as fast as humanly possible, with companies like Gusto, Ramp, and Shopify already running agents on our platform.

Responsibilities

• Design and build polished, user-facing product experiences across core surfaces of the product
• Contribute to features end to end, from UX exploration through implementation and iteration
• Use layout, interaction design, and motion to make powerful workflows feel intuitive and fast
• Contribute to our design system, component library, and frontend patterns
• Work closely with product, design, and engineering to turn ambiguous ideas into simple, high-quality experiences
• Bring care and craft to the details including accessibility, performance, reliability, and edge cases

Requirements

• Currently in final year of study in design, computer science, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend development
• Exposure to design systems, component libraries, or reusable frontend patterns
• Strong product intuition and ability to make thoughtful UX decisions
• Portfolio or work samples demonstrating design sensibility and frontend execution

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tailwind CSS, Next.js, or TanStack Query
• Familiarity with Figma or other design tools
• Interest in developer tools, technical products, or AI-native products
• Full-stack exposure and backend fluency
