About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead design engineer and technical resource within cross-functional project teams for the NPD Accessories business unit.
- Use 3D modeling, drafting, and materials science to solve complex engineering problems.
- Establish product test regimens and deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
- Prepare and present mechanical engineering milestone reviews to peer and management groups.
- Perform analyses to drive trade-off decisions regarding performance, cost, complexity, and schedule.
- Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers to qualify new components for prototyping and development.
- Provide support for engineering changes, including the release of new part numbers and bills of materials.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in New Product Development (NPD) or an equivalent role.
- Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Drafting.
- Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA); ANSYS experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis software; Minitab experience is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Functional knowledge of design, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
