About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead design engineer and technical resource within cross-functional project teams for the NPD Accessories business unit.
  • Use 3D modeling, drafting, and materials science to solve complex engineering problems.
  • Establish product test regimens and deliver complete data analysis to support design recommendations.
  • Prepare and present mechanical engineering milestone reviews to peer and management groups.
  • Perform analyses to drive trade-off decisions regarding performance, cost, complexity, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers to qualify new components for prototyping and development.
  • Provide support for engineering changes, including the release of new part numbers and bills of materials.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in New Product Development (NPD) or an equivalent role.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling and Drafting.
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA); ANSYS experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis software; Minitab experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Functional knowledge of design, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
