Design Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions for a wide range of simple to routine aircraft structure repair tasks
• Review and interpret damage reports from Maintenance Repair Organizations to create quality repair solutions
• Collaborate with Static Stress, Fatigue, and Damage Tolerance departments to optimize repair designs
• Create and modify technical documents including repair instructions, drawings, and technical communications
• Provide clear and concise responses to routine repair queries from Airbus Operations and Customer Services
• Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through better processes and tools

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Civil, or Mechanical)
• 0 to 3 years of experience in design or analysis with airframe structures
• Proficiency in 3D Modeling and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong computer skills, including MS Excel and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment both independently and collectively
• Must be currently local to the Wichita, KS metro area
• Authorized to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
• Internship experience in the aerospace engineering field with airframe analysis
• Experience with MRO/Fleet Engineering or Material Review Board (MRB) processes
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or 3DExperience
• Conversational French and/or German
