Design Engineer

Backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Eagle acquires and transforms civil, structural, and MEP engineering firms with applied AI, providing engineers with the tools they need to solve the world’s hardest infrastructure, energy, and climate problems.

Responsibilities

• Embed with staff at engineering firms to observe workflows and design solutions
• Own the product surface end-to-end, from interaction design and prototyping to shipping production front-end code
• Establish and own the company design system, including components, patterns, and primitives
• Define interaction patterns for an AI-native platform, focusing on streaming, latency, and human-in-the-loop review
• Collaborate directly with the CTO on product direction and culture

Requirements

• Strong design taste combined with the ability to ship production code (React/TypeScript or equivalent)
• Experience building and maintaining a design system used by multiple products or teams
• Experience designing UX for AI-native products (handling non-determinism, streaming output, and agentic flows)
• Ability to earn trust with non-technical users through poise and communication
• Willingness to travel to engineering firms
• Ability to distill noisy user feedback into clear product opinions
