Design Engineer, Design Systems

Responsibilities

• Build Confido's design system from the ground up including tokens, components, styles, and documentation
• Implement production-grade React/TS components with pixel-perfect execution and interactions
• Design in context by working across real product surfaces to understand component relationships
• Bridge design and engineering by translating intent into code
• Rapidly prototype new concepts and patterns to validate ideas
• Socialize the design system across the team to improve shipping velocity

Requirements

• 4+ years of design engineering or frontend experience
• Proficiency in Figma and code editors
• Strong frontend engineering skills in TypeScript, React, CSS, and animations
• Experience building or contributing to a design system (tokens, components, documentation)
• Systems mindset focused on primitives and abstractions
• Ability to move fast and prototype ideas rapidly

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience shipping a major version of a design system
• Experience designing for B2B financial, enterprise, or operational domains
• Active use of AI tools in professional workflows
• Ability to prototype in code to validate concepts
