Design Engineer – Control Systems

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for technical compliance of assigned projects, serving as the technical owner from design through commissioning.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables including General Arrangement, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Drawings, I/O Lists, System Architecture, and Control Philosophy.
• Review and validate PLC/RTU logic and SCADA screens against customer requirements.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BoM) and review vendor submittals and technical datasheets for compliance.
• Conduct site studies and assessments to analyze project requirements and existing infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous area classification requirements (ATEX/IECEx) in equipment selection and panel design.
• Coordinate engineering-to-commissioning handover and provide remote or on-site support during troubleshooting.
• Travel to client sites within India and the MEA region as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a relevant discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in design engineering for Industrial Control & Automation Systems.
• Hands-on understanding of PLC, RTU, SCADA, and HMI system design.
• Proficiency in industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, DNP3, or IEC 61850.
• Experience with design tools such as EPLAN (preferred) or AutoCAD.
• Understanding of equipment protection standards including ATEX/IECEx, NEMA, and IP ratings.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for site mobilizations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, or Schneider Electric.
• Previous experience in the Oil & Gas, Utilities, or Infrastructure sectors.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in day-to-day engineering workflows.
