Chai is a research lab working on generative models for molecular design. We are building AI infrastructure to engineer new medicines with speed and precision. Our mission is to unlock progress towards better cures and better science.

Responsibilities

• Define how scientists interact with advanced drug design models
• Own the interaction paradigm end to end, from research and low-fi sketches to polished, shipped interfaces
• Invent new software categories for designing medicine on a computer
• Create intuitive interfaces for cluttered, dense, and deeply technical molecular biology domains
• Ensure high visual and aesthetic craft in product design

Requirements

• 5+ years designing exceptional products for domain experts
• Ability to build what you design, moving from Figma to production front-end code
• Experience designing AI-first products
• Bias for simplicity and minimalism in highly technical domains
• Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions and synthesize complex science

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data visualization or data science
• Scientific domain experience
