Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and develop CAD designs that dictate geometric forms and control manufactured products
• Develop qualitative, cost-effective design concepts in accordance with Product Workshops
• Represent all design activities during product development through close cooperation with project and test engineers
• Create independent designs, assembly drawings, single part drawings, and bills of materials
• Perform technical calculations regarding strength, weight, and packaging
• Conduct simulations including kinematics and FEM Catia GPS and interpret results
• Calculate functional dimensions and tolerances based on testing and simulation results
• Participate in formal design/engineering reviews such as DFMEA and specification reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.E. or B.Tech.) in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• 4 to 7 years of professional experience in the automotive industry
• Proficiency in 3D and 2D CATIA V5
• Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with sheet metal and plastic design and manufacturing (DFM and DFA)
• Ability to perform basic design calculations for static and dynamical loads, deformation, and pressure
• Good communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in automotive seat mechanism components such as Recliner, Height adjuster, Leg rest, or cushion extension design
• Knowledge of automotive seating systems
