Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models, detailed drawings, and design documentation.
• Support reverse engineering, product improvements, and new concept design.
• Complete analysis, simulation, and technical checks to ensure safe and reliable product design.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and supportable.
• Support field evaluations and product reviews through site and manufacturing visits.
• Capture product data, specifications, and design changes within the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Provide technical input to internal teams regarding product performance and design intent.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in mechanical design, product design, or reliability engineering.
• Experience working within mining equipment, construction equipment, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD, detailed drafting, and engineering analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel locally and regionally (approximately 10–20%).
• Must hold full, unrestricted work authorisation in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens NX, ANSYS, or Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
• Proficiency with 3D scanning technology.
• Knowledge of surface mining equipment, crawler systems, or manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, MSHA, or relevant regional mine hazard training.
• Spanish or French language capabilities.
