Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive connectors through parametric modeling and manufacturing drawings
• Perform requirement analysis, concept generation, and focus matrix development
• Create development, manufacturing, and offer drawings based on technical inputs
• Prepare technical customer documentation and implement changes from ECR in series parts
• Perform tolerance stack-up, functional proof of connector assemblies, and design calculations
• Conduct benchmarking of connectors and specification comparisons
• Manage connector validation, design verification, and requirement compliance
• Create Material Master and BOM in SAP

Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• 6+ years of professional experience in design engineering
• Proficiency in UG NX and Teamcenter
• Strong knowledge of thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, and plating materials
• Expertise in GD&T and tolerance stack-up
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including molding, stamping, and assembly
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the connector industry or automotive domain
• Knowledge of High Voltage connectors for Electric Vehicles
• Exposure to plastic injection molding tooling and sheet metal forming/stamping tools
• Experience with DRBFM, focus matrix, and FMEA
• Proficiency in performing Airgap and Creepage calculations using Creo
• Knowledge of project management tools like MS Project
• Proficiency in the German language
