Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems
• Create and deliver CAD models and presentations to customers
• Communicate across engineering disciplines to make program critical decisions
• Identify core issues, develop solutions, and communicate impacts across teams
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other engineers
• Develop supporting design material such as bill of materials, assembly procedures, and weight optimization trades

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven engineering experience
• Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• Demonstrated experience designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies
• US citizenship or permanent residency with ability to obtain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Systems design experience in flight controls, landing gear, or hydraulics
• Proficiency with multiple CAD programs (Catia, SolidWorks, etc.)
• Familiarity with analysis packages like FEMAP and NASTRAN
• Proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standard methodologies
• Solid understanding of aerospace materials, hardware, and fabrication techniques
• Rapid prototype experience
• Experience with design lifecycle and configuration management systems
• Hands-on experience with machining and composite layup
• Test plan development and structural testing experience
• Comfort working on Military/DoD projects
