Design Engineer 3

Responsibilities

• Create engineering layouts, models, and drawings for aircraft structural and systems modifications using 3D Catia CAD software
• Provide leadership to a team of designers and draftsmen to drive design solutions from concept to implementation
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance for project development and proposals
• Solve manufacturing problems and identify creative ways to meet schedule deadlines
• Perform or verify engineering testing and calculations to meet safety protocols
• Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate reports
• Interface with stress analysts and shop floor mechanics during airframe integration

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
• 5-10 years of experience with Catia V5 design for aerospace structural modifications
• Broad experience with aircraft materials (MMPDS), hardware (MS, NAS, AN), and sheet metal
• Strong understanding of airframe structures, systems, manufacturing, and assembly procedures
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
