Design/Construction Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering plans and specifications for roadways, culverts, and other infrastructure structures.
• Oversee bridge construction projects and ensure engineering soundness.
• Review and evaluate designs from outside consultants to ensure conformance to engineering standards.
• Supervise and direct the inspection and testing of construction materials and workmanship.
• Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Verify compliance with regulatory requirements, including permits and rights of way.
• Review final contract plans, specifications, and cost estimates for accuracy.
• Provide technical expertise and oversight to ensure projects are built to safety and quality standards.
• Supervise and provide guidance to Engineer Technicians and support staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Four years of experience in civil engineering.
• Two years of experience in construction management.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer In Training (EIT) Certificate.
