Design Code & Project Engineer

Responsibilities

• Review design calculations and drawings for pressure-retaining products to ensure compliance with ASME codes and Canadian jurisdictional requirements (CRN, CSA B51, N299.3).
• Maintain provincial Professional Engineer licenses and stamp design documents as required for regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support to Canadian and global sales teams regarding local requirements for pressurized equipment.
• Submit design documents to relevant jurisdictions and manage relationships with design surveyors and provincial personnel.
• Manage assigned engineered project orders, ensuring accurate delivery of engineering documentation and manufacturer’s record books on time and within budget.
• Perform final independent inspections for nuclear service jobs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree with sufficient competence in ASME Pressure Vessel design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada (must be licensed in Ontario or eligible for licensure; Alberta licensure is highly valued).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Codes, specifically Sections I, III, V, VIII, and IX.
• Fluent English communication skills (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership or eligibility for membership in ASME.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Compress, or MathCAD.
• Previous experience with the CRN review and registration process.
• Knowledge of heat transfer products.
• Proficiency in French (oral and written).

• Annual salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 CAD.
