Design Automation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Build tools that automate the architect-plus-developer workflow, specifically focusing on Revit automation
• Reduce value-engineering and costing iterations from days to hours
• Improve the exchange layer with external structural, MEP, and electrical consultants
• Develop web applications that bridge to Revit
• Ship features for compliant design option generation, real-time pro forma recalculation, and zoning/code compliance checking
• Implement predictive AHJ models to tune permit submissions

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience shipping production software in a team codebase (CI/CD, code review)
• Deep understanding of how buildings are constructed and how architects manage projects
• Working knowledge of a parametric or BIM design stack (Revit + Dynamo, Rhino + Grasshopper, or Archicad)
• Strong architectural instincts for building maintainable systems
• Informed judgment regarding the use of LLM APIs and AI-assisted development
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Revit API, Autodesk Platform Services, or plug-in development
• Experience with CAD automation in manufacturing or industrialized construction
• Experience building AI-powered product features like generative models or LLMs within a production pipeline
