Design Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist Planning and Development staff with planning, design, and construction of educational facility projects
• Perform routine procedural work related to management of Architectural-Engineering contracts and services
• Read and interpret architectural, engineering, and planning documents
• Collect and organize data for reports and presentations
• Review plans and design/construction documentation for compliance with LAUSD standards and federal, state, and local codes
• Coordinate project activities with various District organizational branches and departments
• Participate in community relations and outreach programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Planning
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in an architecture and design setting
• Three years of experience specifically with design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit
• Knowledge of California building codes including ADA, CA Title 24, CalGreen, and Division of the State Architect regulations
• Strong ability to analyze architectural/engineering problems and recommend feasible solutions

Benefits

• Salary Range: $122,000-$127,000
