About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced administrative support and bookkeeping services to assist the County Treasurer’s office.
- Reconcile warrants issued for multiple taxing districts and adjust parcels by supplements, cancels, or segregations.
- Create and audit sets of tax-associated bookkeeping records and process daily warrant reconciliations.
- Receive and receipt payments from taxpayers in person, via website, or by mail.
- Provide customer service to taxpayers via telephone, email, and at the public service counter.
- Research and examine permits for the movement of manufactured homes and determine taxability or exemptions.
- Process real estate excise tax affidavits and use tax collections.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in Bookkeeping Principles and Methods.
- 2 years of customer service experience.
- Proficiency in desktop computer operation and financial accounting software.
- Knowledge of applied office practices.
- Valid Driver’s License with proof of automobile insurance.
- Acceptable background record and driving abstract.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in real estate property transfers.
- Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish.
- Previous experience working in county government.
