Deputy SENDCo

Responsibilities

• Support the SENDCo in providing professional leadership and management to remove barriers to learning for students with SEND
• Provide professional guidance on SEND to colleagues and work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies
• Assume delegated responsibilities in negotiation with the SENDCo
• Support the academic progress of students with SEND through small group or 1:1 interventions

Requirements

• Honours degree (or equivalent)
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
• SEN experience within a secondary school setting
• Proven experience supporting young people with SEND
• Evidence of pastoral experience
• Experience working with key stakeholders, including parents, governors, and employers
• Commitment to ongoing professional development relevant to SEND
