About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the SENDCo in providing professional leadership and management to remove barriers to learning for students with SEND
- Provide professional guidance on SEND to colleagues and work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies
- Assume delegated responsibilities in negotiation with the SENDCo
- Support the academic progress of students with SEND through small group or 1:1 interventions
Requirements
- Honours degree (or equivalent)
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
- SEN experience within a secondary school setting
- Proven experience supporting young people with SEND
- Evidence of pastoral experience
- Experience working with key stakeholders, including parents, governors, and employers
- Commitment to ongoing professional development relevant to SEND
