About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide managerial and technical direction to professional and support staff during project execution
- Establish project teams and coordinate activities across multiple disciplines
- Manage program planning, budgeting, and the establishment of critical objectives
- Manage all aspects of project communication and maximize project profitability
- Support and lead negotiations with regulatory agencies and present program issues to the public
- Assist in the development of new and existing clients by negotiating scope, schedule, and fees
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and recruitment support for junior staff
- Lead internal and external project risk reviews
- Promote and follow company safety protocols on all projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of applicable experience
- Strong project and program management skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and work overtime on short notice
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-discipline project team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Primavera Contract Manager or similar change management software
- Technical leadership in wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment, or stormwater management
- Experience with capital planning and project delivery (design and construction)
- Familiarity with public utilities and water/wastewater regulatory actions such as Consent Decrees
- Knowledge of federal and state regulatory programs related to CSO and SSO control

Burns & McDonnell's Water Practice provides program management and capital program assistance services for large-scale water and wastewater utilities. The Shreveport team manages significant long-term capital investments, including the Clean Water Shreveport and Renew Shreveport programs.
