Deputy Port Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead daily port operations at the Port of Hull, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant handling of wind turbine components
• Manage and develop port operations leads, supervisors, team leads, and contractors
• Plan and oversee marine operations, blade storage, delivery, and port infrastructure works
• Coordinate with project teams, logistics, vessel crews, customs, and regulatory stakeholders
• Maintain safety, quality, compliance, documentation, and operational reporting
• Support budget planning and resource allocation for personnel, equipment, and tools

Requirements

• Degree in a technical, practical, or maritime field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Leadership experience in port operations, industrial logistics, or a similar operational environment
• Strong knowledge of heavy-lift operations, lifting equipment, and component handling
• Solid understanding of safety, quality, and risk management practices
• Familiarity with SAP and MS Office
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic operational setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in offshore wind, preassembly, or marine/civil environments
• Knowledge of wind turbine component specifications and storage requirements
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors
• Confidence in stakeholder engagement and operational briefings
