Deputy MLRO

Responsibilities

• Support the Compliance and MLRO in ensuring adherence to UAE virtual asset regulations, including the VARA regulatory framework
• Implement and maintain the AML/CFT compliance framework aligned with UAE AML Law and FATF standards
• Coordinate with free zone and federal regulators for inspections, audits, and information requests
• Oversee day-to-day transaction monitoring alerts and investigate unusual or potentially suspicious activity
• Draft Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) for submission to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit
• Assist in drafting and updating AML/CTF policies, procedures, and risk assessments
• Deliver AML/CFT awareness training to staff and provide guidance on regulatory developments

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of experience in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory affairs within the financial services industry
• Proven experience working with MEASA regional regulators such as VARA, CBUAE, SCA, or FSRA
• Strong investigative mindset with high attention to detail and analytical skills
• Proficiency with compliance tools and blockchain forensics platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, Elliptic) is a plus
• Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
