About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage direct material purchase activities to ensure timely availability of raw materials at competitive costs and high quality.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while conducting regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with SKF standards.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations, value engineering, and market intelligence.
  • Manage supply chain risks by developing backup suppliers and implementing mitigation plans for price volatility or shortages.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) by managing the end-to-end development of parts and products from concept to launch.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to manage supplier corrective actions and ensure materials meet required specifications.
  • Analyze procurement data and KPIs, including delivery, cost reduction, and quality metrics, to provide management reporting.

Requirements

  • 7-13 years of experience in supplier development, product development, purchase, or supply chain management.
  • BE in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or equivalent) obtained via full-time study.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive components, sheet metal, rubber, polymers, packaging, and warehousing.
  • Proven expertise in commercial negotiations regarding pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions.
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional stakeholder management.
