About the role
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development, build, test, and operations of propulsion flight and ground hardware
- Perform structural, fluid, and thermal analysis of mechanical components and assemblies
- Develop and document test requirements, plans, procedures, and reports
- Create component and assembly drawings for flight and ground test hardware
- Assist mechanics in integrating components onto the aircraft and ground systems
- Test propulsion components to prepare for integrated subsystem testing
- Manage supplier relations with key vendors and track vehicle propulsion configuration
- Maintain technical ownership of clean rooms and manage engineering release schedules
Requirements
- Experience with fluid subsystem design, mechanical design, or structural engineering
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling of parts and assemblies
- Experience with propulsion ground testing and component-level test execution
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with relevant years of experience (5-20+ depending on level)
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical or personnel management leadership experience
- Experience with liquid oxygen or liquid rocket engine testing
- Proficiency in Solidworks, Matlab, Python, or Simulink/Simscape
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems (e.g., Curtiss-Wright DAS Studio) or Jira
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
