About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to law graduates, attorneys, and paralegals
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Housing Law Unit
- Supervise litigation including individual/group representation in Housing Court and affirmative litigation in State and Federal Court
- Manage intake, onboarding, and training for new attorneys
- Strengthen relationships with community partners, elected officials, and community groups
- Engage in policy advocacy and community education/outreach
- Handle administrative and grant responsibilities
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant housing litigation experience
- Prior supervision or mentoring experience in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of housing laws, court procedures, and public benefits
- Excellent analytical, persuasive writing, and communication skills
- Experience with appellate advocacy
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing deadlines
