Deputy Head of Primary School

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Primary in implementing the school's vision, mission, and educational strategy.
• Ensure high academic standards within the Primary and Foundation Stage (FS) departments.
• Lead the Primary/FS team, including overseeing performance management and staff development.
• Manage budgets and undertake teaching or other professional duties as delegated by the Principal.
• Promote excellence in pastoral care and ensure a commitment to inclusion for all students.
• Drive school improvement through innovative approaches to learning and pedagogy.

Requirements

• Fully certified teacher holding a B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching or leadership experience.
• Extensive experience working with the National Curriculum for England.
• Proven track record of effective leadership and sustained school improvement.
• Strong expertise in pedagogy and the ability to coach and develop teacher competencies.
• Excellent communication and people development skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership role within a GEMS school or a similar international setting.
• Demonstrated ability to use data to drive academic excellence and school growth.
• A genuine passion for contributing to the wider co-curricular life of the school.
