Deputy Director, Reasonable Accommodations

Responsibilities

• Review and process employee requests for reasonable accommodation in accordance with EEOC criteria and applicable laws
• Make determinations related to the reasonable accommodation process and provide guidance to the Assistant Commissioner
• Draft official correspondence related to accommodation requests
• Coordinate meetings to review and discuss accommodation requests
• Prepare and generate reports to track accommodation activity
• Maintain accurate and confidential tracking systems and records
• Deliver workforce training focused on reasonable accommodation policies and procedures
• Assist employees and managers in understanding rights and responsibilities regarding accommodations
• Ensure compliance with DCAS and EEOC laws, rules, and regulations

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar
• Four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant legal experience
• Eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity, or performing highly complex legal work
• Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing
