About the role
Responsibilities
- Review and process employee requests for reasonable accommodation in accordance with EEOC criteria and applicable laws
- Make determinations related to the reasonable accommodation process and provide guidance to the Assistant Commissioner
- Draft official correspondence related to accommodation requests
- Coordinate meetings to review and discuss accommodation requests
- Prepare and generate reports to track accommodation activity
- Maintain accurate and confidential tracking systems and records
- Deliver workforce training focused on reasonable accommodation policies and procedures
- Assist employees and managers in understanding rights and responsibilities regarding accommodations
- Ensure compliance with DCAS and EEOC laws, rules, and regulations
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant legal experience
- Eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity, or performing highly complex legal work
- Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing
