Deputy Director, Health & Wellness

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director in supervising psychologists and psychology staff
• Provide triage evaluation of social, occupational, emotional, or psychological issues
• Conduct wellness checks and group critical incident debriefings
• Provide outreach to designated NYPD precincts
• Deliver clinical supportive services including brief counseling and referral
• Develop and conduct mental health training for Department members
• Assist in initiative development and drafting grant proposals
• Act as a liaison with department leadership in the Director's absence
• Represent psychological services to lay and professional peers

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in psychology from an accredited college
• Five years of full-time professional psychological experience
• At least eighteen months of experience in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity
• Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the New York State Department of Education
• OR a valid license to practice medicine in New York with Board Certification in Psychiatry and two years of professional experience
