About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of senior architects dedicated to project scoping and review of consultant-designed projects
  • Oversee In-House Design efforts and provide general technical support for the agency
  • Develop unit policies, procedures, and project tracking systems
  • Prepare performance evaluations and handle administrative tasks
  • Assist the Associate Commissioner and Director in strategic planning
  • Attend high-level project meetings with client sponsors, Commissioners, and oversight Agency heads

Requirements

  • Valid New York State Registration as an Architect
  • Six years of full-time paid experience in architectural work
  • At least two years of experience as an administrative architect
  • Must be permanent in the Administrative Architect title or reachable on the DDC promotional list (exam #6501) or open-competitive list (exam #6001)
