Deputy Director

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of project directors and project managers
• Oversee the design and construction of capital projects
• Resolve project issues and ensure projects meet target dates and budgets
• Implement and adhere to Public Buildings’ policies and procedures
• Interface with sponsor agencies and assist with approvals and permitting
• Prepare consultant and contractor performance evaluations
• Assist in developing the Unit’s Commitment Plan and meeting KPIs

Requirements

• Valid New York State License as a Professional Engineer
• Six years of experience in chemical, civil, electrical, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or plan examining work
• At least two years of experience in an executive, managerial, or administrative capacity
• Must meet specific civil service criteria (permanent in Administrative Engineer title or on specific promotional/open-competitive lists)
