About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct several Child Protective Managers and their respective units
- Ensure units are sufficiently staffed, equipped, and trained according to law and policy
- Oversee implementation of agency policy and operational systems within the borough
- Implement management controls and evaluate subordinate performance
- Resolve procedural and operational problems within the program
- Design and oversee creative solutions to case-related problems
- Manage the program reporting process and assess borough program monitoring
- Develop initiatives to improve work quality and the work environment
- Establish and maintain liaison relations with NYC service providers
- Make critical decisions under pressure without prior approval
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Four years of full-time professional social services or related experience
- At least eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity
- Experience with organizations dealing directly with children or adolescents
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or master's degree in a related discipline
- Proven managerial accomplishments in child protection or human services
- Knowledge of NY State Connections case management system
- Ability to communicate in Spanish or other languages
- Experience working with NYC's diverse communities
