Deputy Director

Responsibilities

• Direct several Child Protective Managers and their respective units
• Ensure units are sufficiently staffed, equipped, and trained according to law and policy
• Oversee implementation of agency policy and operational systems within the borough
• Implement management controls and evaluate subordinate performance
• Resolve procedural and operational problems within the program
• Design and oversee creative solutions to case-related problems
• Manage the program reporting process and assess borough program monitoring
• Develop initiatives to improve work quality and the work environment
• Establish and maintain liaison relations with NYC service providers
• Make critical decisions under pressure without prior approval

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
• Four years of full-time professional social services or related experience
• At least eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity
• Experience with organizations dealing directly with children or adolescents

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or master's degree in a related discipline
• Proven managerial accomplishments in child protection or human services
• Knowledge of NY State Connections case management system
• Ability to communicate in Spanish or other languages
• Experience working with NYC's diverse communities
