About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage activities of staff involved in resolving public assistance client appeals and ensuring agency requirements are met
- Oversee application and recertification processes to ensure eligibility rules and time frames are adhered to
- Assist the Benefits Access Center Director in directing various program components including call centers and specialized job centers
- Determine training needs, oversee curriculum development, and evaluate training effectiveness for staff
- Supervise the implementation of Welfare Reform initiatives and personal responsibility programs
- Evaluate the legality and appropriateness of case actions through management audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee referrals to the Office of Child Support Enforcement and other outside agencies like SSA and ACS
- Monitor the Fair Hearing process and ensure timely compliance with decisions
- Manage the accuracy and timelines of data entered into centralized computer systems for benefit generation
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree plus four years of experience in employment or economic support services, with 18 months in a supervisory capacity; OR
- High school diploma plus eight years of equivalent experience, with 18 months in a supervisory capacity; OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
