Deputy Director Aviation Operations

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse workforce, overseeing staffing, scheduling, performance management, and labor relations within a complex, unionized environment.
• Ensure safe and secure airport operations by upholding FAA Part 139 standards and maintaining regulatory compliance through regular airfield inspections.
• Direct critical airfield operations and emergency response efforts, including incident command, disaster preparedness, snow operations, and construction coordination.
• Partner with internal departments and external agencies to advance safety management systems and optimize airfield and gate operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aviation science, business administration, or equivalent professional experience in a major international airport environment.
• 10+ years of aviation operations experience at an International Origin and Destination Airport.
• Proven supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to lead teams.
• Extensive knowledge of FAA Part 139 compliance and TSA Parts 1540 and 1542 requirements.
• Practical experience with construction coordination, snow removal operations, and airfield maintenance practices such as rubber and pavement repair.

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
