Deputy Design Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage internal and external engineers and coordinate design activities
• Provide technical solutions to optimize design and minimize construction time
• Perform quality control reviews and due diligence on designs from sub-consultants
• Monitor and report progress against design schedules
• Defend design solutions to clients and stakeholders
• Anticipate technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Coordinate resolution of design and engineering problems
• Review drawings and designer submittals for accuracy
• Ensure construction plans conform to applicable standards
• Prepare and monitor design budgets and schedules

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• 10 years of related work experience
• Experience with at least two projects exceeding $100M
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in at least one state
• Ability to obtain P.E. registration in Pennsylvania
• Familiarity with AASHTO, FHWA, and PennDOT regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with CAD and associated engineering software

Preferred Qualifications

• Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification
• Experience working with PennDOT
• P3 or Design Build experience on projects larger than $500M
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques
• On-site and field experience on civil projects
• Proficiency with scheduling software like Microsoft Project or P-6
