About the role
Responsibilities
- Support the Clinic Director in the oversight and direction of clinical services, including patient safety and day-to-day operations.
- Serve as the acting clinical leader in the absence of the Clinic Director.
- Assist with clinical governance, including medical staff conduct, documentation standards, and infection prevention.
- Support quality management, performance improvement initiatives, and the investigation of adverse events.
- Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.
- Provide direct patient care as needed to support access to care and continuity of operations.
- Ensure compliance with emergency response protocols, credentialing requirements, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian program.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted medical license in Texas.
- Unrestricted DEA license to prescribe controlled medications.
- Minimum of 3 years post-residency experience providing direct patient care.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical supervision and leadership.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Preventive Health.
- BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a thorough background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a detention, correctional, or residential healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in Spanish.
