Deputy City Solicitor or Senior Attorney

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent City departments including Streets, Sanitation, and the Municipal Energy Office
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations affecting client departments
• Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions
• Draft regulations, policies, and procedures
• Negotiate various contracts, including professional services, grant agreements, and public-private partnerships
• Represent the City in administrative board hearings and litigation matters
• Mentor and support junior attorneys

Requirements

• Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Membership in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligibility for reciprocity
• For Deputy City Solicitor: minimum of four years of relevant legal experience
• For Senior Attorney: minimum of nine years of relevant legal experience
• Ability to manage a complex workload of regulatory and transactional matters
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with government procurement contracting
• Experience with government legislative and regulatory processes
