Deputy Chief of Staff

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to develop and execute strategic goals and objectives
• Oversee and expedite complex issue escalations involving the Chief of Staff and Commissioner
• Provide project management support to senior leadership agency-wide
• Prepare executive-level presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and reports
• Assist with logistical and content planning for weekly executive meetings
• Liaise between the agency and City Hall and other City agencies
• Manage a portfolio of special projects from conception to completion
• Track, document, and report on Commissioner's office tasks and projects
• Consolidate and analyze information from stakeholders for executive decision-making
• Coordinate and prioritize the Commissioner’s public speaking commitments
• Represent the Chief of Staff in meetings and stakeholder engagements
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
• Two years of responsible full-time paid experience in social services, public relations, urban planning, program evaluation, budget/financial administration, human resources, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, statistics, or related fields
• Or a satisfactory combination of education and experience equivalent to the above
