About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop an engineering team responsible for Avionics or AP&S Modifications execution, establishing priorities and accountability for technical delivery.
- Provide people leadership and coaching by mentoring engineers and supporting career development.
- Drive project execution in partnership with Program Management to establish integrated plans, resource strategies, and schedules.
- Oversee technical risk, issue, and opportunity management to ensure early identification and sound mitigation plans.
- Guide the resolution of complex cross-functional technical challenges and facilitate Technical Design Reviews (TDRs).
- Ensure certification and compliance by engaging with FAA and EASA-appointed personnel and reinforcing regulatory adherence.
- Support proposal activities by evaluating Statements of Work and defining required engineering effort and cost estimates.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability through disciplined engineering practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
- At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, manager, or large-scale project management).
- 3+ years of experience working with FAA and EASA regulations and requirements.
- 5+ years of experience communicating complex technical risks and advising senior leaders.
- Experience reviewing IPC, SB, or AD, or experience with certification processes such as ATC, STC, or MTC.
- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience leading multi-disciplined, complex engineering projects and teams.
- Knowledge of Boeing's organizational processes, program plans, and products.
- Experience working directly with regulators such as the FAA or a delegated ODA Office.
- Experience training or mentoring in a technical environment.
- Experience presenting to executive-level leadership.
