Deputy BSA & Sanctions Officer

Responsibilities

• Support the BSA Officer in developing and enhancing a global BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance program
• Oversee transaction monitoring, investigations, data validation, and reporting functions
• Lead annual BSA/AML and OFAC risk assessments and control evaluations
• Maintain BSA/AML and Sanctions policies, procedures, and documentation
• Oversee enhanced due diligence (EDD) processes for high-risk customers
• Ensure timely filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and OFAC-related reporting
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Legal, and Operations to embed compliance into business processes
• Lead preparation for regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries
• Manage state licensing compliance and Money Transmitter License (MTL) reporting
• Support banking partner due diligence requests

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance
• Strong knowledge of U.S. BSA/AML regulations and OFAC requirements
• Experience overseeing investigations, SAR filings, and regulatory reporting
• Proven experience managing regulatory exams and audits
• Ability to work independently and drive complex initiatives
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, digital assets, or high-growth regulated environments
• Prior experience as a BSA Officer or Deputy BSA Officer
• Familiarity with transaction monitoring and sanctions screening tools
• CAMS, CGSS, or other relevant financial crimes certifications
