Department Supervisor

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop floor operations and lead morning huddles to convey instructions to operators
• Provide administrative support to the department manager, including data assembly and reporting using Microsoft Excel and Access
• Manage department metrics, tracking capital expenses, goals, and objectives through daily chart updates
• Perform purchasing functions and order necessary supplies for the department
• Handle personnel administration, including timekeeping, vacation scheduling, and attendance management
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other departmental forms
• Ensure all processes and employees operate in an environmentally responsible manner, promoting waste minimization and energy conservation

Requirements

• 4-year degree or equivalent professional work experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2-hour intervals)
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
