Department Manager - Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee daily warehouse operations and associates in assigned functional areas
• Manage and lead a large hourly workforce to build an engaged, high-performing team
• Supervise and coordinate accuracy and timeliness for product handling and paperwork
• Ensure warehouse space is used effectively and maintained in a clean, orderly condition
• Provide guidance and direction to team members on proper operating procedures
• Communicate with clerks, headquarters, and drivers regarding shipment status and schedule changes
• Research and resolve issues involving purchase orders and shipping/receiving documentation
• Promote safe work practices and resolve all identified safety concerns
• Establish performance standards and lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct counseling, mentoring, and performance appraisals

Requirements

• 5+ years of management experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment
• Proven experience using WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and LMS (Labor Management Systems)
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to make data-driven decisions and exercise good judgment
• Willingness to work the night shift and occasionally assist on other shifts based on operational needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience in supply chain distribution
