About the role

Responsibilities

  • Chair the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy, including recruiting and supporting faculty and students
  • Maintain COAMFTE accreditation for the program
  • Teach graduate-level couple and family therapy courses with an emphasis on inclusive teaching practices
  • Provide clinical supervision to MFT graduate students
  • Advise graduate students and participate in university governance and service activities
  • Develop and advance a program of scholarship (for tenure-track candidates)

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from a COAMFTE-accredited program or its equivalent
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within a COAMFTE program
  • Proven teaching and supervisory skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues
  • Commitment to using inclusive and anti-racist pedagogy
  • Clinical or research emphasis on marginalized populations
  • AAMFT Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor (or Approved Supervisor Candidate)
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
