About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior academic and administrative leader of the Department of Nursing, aligning initiatives with institutional strategic priorities.
- Oversee departmental operations, including fiscal management, budget forecasting, and enrollment management.
- Support faculty professional growth, recruitment, workload management, and evaluation.
- Teach didactic and clinical graduate nursing courses in pre-licensure and MSN programs using evidence-based strategies.
- Develop, revise, and implement curriculum consistent with AACN Essentials, CCNE, and NONPF standards.
- Provide academic advising, student mentorship, and timely feedback to learners.
- Cultivate strong clinical partnerships and support accreditation processes.
Requirements
- Earned doctoral degree in nursing or a closely related field (PhD, DNP, DNSc, EdD).
- Active, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
- Minimum of two years of higher education leadership experience within a nursing school.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and accreditation processes.
- A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service in nursing education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential.
- Scholarly engagement in social determinants of health, health informatics, health equity, or nursing education scholarship.
