About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all administrative functions within the Department of Epidemiology.
- Serve as the principal administrative advisor to the Department Chair on financial, operational, human resources, and compliance matters.
- Oversee departmental financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Provide oversight of research administration, including grants management, proposal development, and sponsor compliance.
- Direct departmental human resources and faculty affairs, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.
- Support administrative and operational systems that serve academic programs and students.
- Oversee departmental communications, events, branding, and alumni engagement.
- Manage departmental facilities, space planning, and operational infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with University, CUIMC, MSPH, and governmental policies and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
- 5+ years of related administrative experience.
- Proven experience in financial management and research grant management.
- Demonstrated executive leadership experience within a complex academic, healthcare, or research environment.
- Strong personnel management skills and ability to oversee complex administrative systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), or a related field.
