About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all administrative functions within the Department of Epidemiology.
  • Serve as the principal administrative advisor to the Department Chair on financial, operational, human resources, and compliance matters.
  • Oversee departmental financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Provide oversight of research administration, including grants management, proposal development, and sponsor compliance.
  • Direct departmental human resources and faculty affairs, including recruitment, retention, and performance management.
  • Support administrative and operational systems that serve academic programs and students.
  • Oversee departmental communications, events, branding, and alumni engagement.
  • Manage departmental facilities, space planning, and operational infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with University, CUIMC, MSPH, and governmental policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
  • 5+ years of related administrative experience.
  • Proven experience in financial management and research grant management.
  • Demonstrated executive leadership experience within a complex academic, healthcare, or research environment.
  • Strong personnel management skills and ability to oversee complex administrative systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), or a related field.
