About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive preventive and periodontal care including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and oral cancer screenings
- Collaborate with a dedicated dental assistant to optimize schedule and manage sterilization
- Partner with dentists for hygiene exams and treatment plan recommendations
- Drive hygiene production by maximizing chair time and recommending preventive care
- Maintain strong patient relationships through clear communication and personalized education
- Work within the Team (Assisted) Hygiene model to ensure efficient, high-quality care
Requirements
- Degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Current, active hygiene license in Virginia
- Current Anesthesia/Nitrous license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency with digital charting, x-rays, and intraoral cameras
- Ability to sit, stand, and perform fine motor tasks for extended periods
