Dental Assistant, Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily clinic operations and provide oversight to all dental assistant staff
• Design and implement training plans and documentation for new and current dental assistants
• Coordinate dental assistant work, including mentoring and motivating staff to achieve peak performance
• Manage daily and weekly staff-dentist assignments to ensure clinic effectiveness
• Serve as an intermediary between dentists and assistants to ensure quality patient service
• Maintain and monitor dental equipment, instruments, and supplies per regulatory standards
• Manage implant systems, related treatment plans, and oversee extensive treatment plans
• Provide direct dental assistance to dentists during treatments and dental emergencies
• Order dental supplies to ensure adequate availability and conduct daily team huddles
• Act as a back-up leader for the Manager position when required

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Five years of dental assisting experience
• Knowledge of the full range of ADA dental clinical specialties
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-specialty environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduation from a formal Dental Assistant Program
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
