Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side assistance to the Dental Provider during patient care procedures
• Develop radiographs following safety protocols to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure
• Oversee laboratory work status and coordinate follow-up appointments with the receptionist
• Monitor dental equipment and inventory, communicating repair needs and supply shortages to the Dental Services Coordinator
• Ensure smooth patient flow and complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality controls
• Perform post-op calls after extractions and manage patient follow-up appointments
• Prepare and mix dental materials including sedative dressings and luting cements
• Take preliminary impressions and prepare instrumentation for various dental treatments
• Adhere to all dental policies, HRSA, JACHO, and OSHA standards

Requirements

• Successful completion of an accredited dental assistant program or equivalent experience
• Valid radiology permit and certification to take x-rays in the State of Pennsylvania
• Knowledge of dental/medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis
• Proficiency with computers and relevant software applications
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, and maintain manual dexterity
• Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
