About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side assistance to the Dental Provider during patient care procedures
- Develop radiographs following safety protocols to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure
- Oversee laboratory work status and coordinate follow-up appointments with the receptionist
- Monitor dental equipment and inventory, communicating repair needs and supply shortages to the Dental Services Coordinator
- Ensure smooth patient flow and complete daily, weekly, and monthly quality controls
- Perform post-op calls after extractions and manage patient follow-up appointments
- Prepare and mix dental materials including sedative dressings and luting cements
- Take preliminary impressions and prepare instrumentation for various dental treatments
- Adhere to all dental policies, HRSA, JACHO, and OSHA standards
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited dental assistant program or equivalent experience
- Valid radiology permit and certification to take x-rays in the State of Pennsylvania
- Knowledge of dental/medical terminology, procedures, and diagnosis
- Proficiency with computers and relevant software applications
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stretch, and maintain manual dexterity
- Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
