Dental Assistant 2

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance, including four-handed dentistry with pediatric restorations
• Manage disinfection and sterilization of supplies and instruments in the dispensary
• Dispense dental supplies and materials to students
• Prepare for and assist during clinical demonstrations
• Maintain cleanliness of cubicles, dispensaries, and laboratory areas
• Perform radiographic duties, including taking and processing Panoramic and Ceph X-rays
• Support the operation of the dental school in a fast-paced clinical environment

Requirements

• B.C. dental assistant certification and a current license
• High School graduation and completion of a dental assistant program
• Two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Completion of the orthodontic module as offered by UBC Continuing Dental Education
• Valid IV sedation certificate (or willingness to obtain the CDAAC sedation certificate)
• Ability to use active restraint for children if urgently needed
