Demolition Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise demolition activities including methods, sequencing, manpower, and equipment
• Direct field operations, personnel, and subcontractors to ensure safety and efficiency
• Manage project productivity, labor efficiency, and cost performance
• Identify and resolve field demolition, logistics, and constructability challenges
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
• Train and manage Foremen and field administrative personnel
• Create and maintain project schedules in conjunction with the Project Manager
• Communicate site problems, conflicts, and quality issues to stakeholders
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with safety programs and quality standards
• Assist Project Manager with cost/schedule forecasts, change orders, and monthly pay requests
• Perform project close-out and ensure punch list completion

Requirements

• 8-10 years of heavy civil construction experience
• 5 years in a Superintendent or Foreman leadership role managing bridge and structural demolition
• Experience with heavy highway bridge demolition (concrete and steel structures)
• Experience working adjacent to railroads, traffic, or in marine environments
• Working knowledge of cranes and rigging
• Experience with hydraulic excavators, hoe-rams, wire saws, and demolition shielding systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents
• Ability to travel 60-80% across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast US
