About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and confectionery items
- Support daily operations of the pastry section under the guidance of the Chef de Partie
- Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and presentation according to company standards
- Participate in menu preparation, mise en place, and seasonal menu execution
- Follow recipes, portion control, and plating standards accurately
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in line with HACCP regulations
- Assist in proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients and equipment
- Help control food wastage and support basic stock rotation (FIFO)
- Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely and smooth service
- Support and cooperate with commis chefs and kitchen colleagues as required
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in a pastry or bakery section
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Good time management and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry
- Experience in a hotel or fine-dining environment
